Should I get a 2011 jeep compass or jeep liberty?

I much prefer the way the compass looks on the outside but I like the way the jeep liberty drives more. What do you think of the way the compass drives? It didn't seem to have as responsive of breaks or enough pick up as I'm used to in my 2007 liberty. Compass also has a smaller engine that contributes to that. Would I get used to the smaller engine/different drive? What are your opinions on how the compass drives?
