Tips for raising an independent puppy?

I adopted a 8 week old border collie X golden retriever puppy 3 days ago. I'm used to affectionate puppies eager to please, this one could care less.he's not responsive if I try and get his attention. ( he can hear me perfectly fine) he'll just look at me not move when i try and get him to come .Not affectionate with me (tho quite affectionate with my other dog). I'm hoping he'll Come around. Any advice?
